Aplocera praeformata (Hübner, 1826)

A very rare and very local species, confined to a number of mountainous localities in the eastern part of the country. Its main stronghold is the Plateau of Losheimergraben near the German border.

The larva lives on Hypericum perforatum from August to May.

The adults are on the wing in July and August. They are easily disturbed from their foodplant and later come to light.
