2011, however its known distribution so far is extremely limited,
encompassing only a small marshland area surrounded by coniferous
forest in the West Rhodópi mountain range, NE Greece,
very close to the Bulgarian border. The small size of its habitat,

general rarity of this butterfly in SE Europe, call for immediate

The Small Bath White, Pontia chloridice (Hübner,
1813), is a rare species in the Balkan Peninsula and has been
known only by two reliable historical records from the Republic
of Macedonia. Its presence was therefore considered a result
of rare long distance migrations to the country. In the last
three years the species was observed on several occasions in
the wide alluviums of the tributaries of the Vardar River in
the south-eastern part of the country. The larval host plant
Cleome ornithopodioides and larvae of P. chloridice
were also discovered indicating that the species is a resident
in this region. Although the suitable habitats are limited,
there is currently no immediate threat to the species.

                  40(3): 63–65.
On 29 October 2011, some leaf mines of Phyllonorycter issikii
(Kumata, 1963) were found on Tilia cordata at
Zutendaal (province of Limburg). This is the first record of
this species for the Belgian fauna. Some data on the distribution
                  and the biology are presented.

the Dodecanese Islands (Greece): new data and an update on their
                  distribution (Lepidoptera: Hesperioidea & Papilionoidea).

                  40(3): 66–80.
The Dodecanese, the most southerly group of Greek islands in
the Aegean Sea, cover a large geographical area and are situated
near the mainland of Turkey. The distribution of butterflies
on the 12 main islands of the archipelago has been previously
studied but considerable gaps in territorial and temporal coverage
remain. Many species of butterflies and skippers have a distribution
that shows low population densities and various species could
easily have been overlooked in the past. In 2011 both authors
obtained new data regarding the distribution of different butterfly
species and gathered unpublished observations from colleagues.
Doubtful and/or data-deficient records are analysed. An updated
overview of the Dodecanese butterfly distribution with comparison
                to the literature is provided.

                  Phegea 40(4): 82–85.
The fauna of Curculionoidea in the province of Limburg is, like in the other Flemish provinces, still insufficiently known.
In this paper, 17 new species for Limburg are discussed, of which 4 species are first records for Flanders, one is a confirmation
and three species are rediscovered for the Belgian fauna.

                  Phegea 40(4): 87–91.
Leucania punctosa (Treitschke, 1825) is recorded for
the first time in Romania based on material collected in the
steppes of northern Dobrogea (south-eastern Romania), where
ca. 300 specimens were attracted to light traps. Adults of both
sexes, as well as male and female genitalia, are illustrated.
The faunistical importance of the steppe areas from northern
                  Dobrogea is briefly discussed.

On 27 May 2011 2 tenanted mines of Stigmella sorbi (Stainton, 1851) were found on Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia)
at Bagimont (near Bohan, Namur). On 30 May another 3 tenanted
mines were found at Orchimont. It is the first record of this
species for the Belgian fauna. During a later excursion at Forges
(province of Hainaut), about 10 vacated mines were found. On
23 June 2012, some tenanted mines on Sorbus aucuparia were
found at Weywertz and at Rocherath (province of Liège).
